LECICO has come a long way since its modest beginnings as a small Lebanese factory in the late 1950s. Over the past years, the Company has grown into one of the largest sanitary ware manufacturers in the world.
1959
Lecico was founded in Lebanon.
1967
Sanitary ware production started in Lebanon.
1975
Lecico was incorporated in Egypt.
1978
Sanitary ware production started in Egypt.
1983
Tile production started in Egypt.
1987
Trading subsidiaries were established in the UK (Lecico PLC) and France (Lecico France).
1994
Lecico was awarded the BS certificate.
1997
Sanitec, a leading manufacturer of sanitary ware in Europe, becomes a shareholder in Lecico.
Sanitary ware factory opened in Borg El-Arab (Egypt).
1999
Borg El Arab Factory 2 completed. LFC begins manufacturing of sanitary ware under Lecico brand name and on behalf of other international customers.
2000
Lecico acquired a controlling interest in Lecico Lebanon.
Lecico was awarded the ISO 9001 certificate
Lecico was awarded KIWA and NF certificates.
2003
2nd Sanitary ware line at Borg El Arab completed
Lecico enters into a sourcing agreement with Sanitec.
2004
Lecico completes the public offering on the London Stock Exchange and Cairo Alexandria Stock Exchanges (CASE).
2006
Lecico enters into expanded supply agreement with Sanitec
Sarreguemines (France) acquired by Lecico.
2007
European Ceramics sanitary ware plant opened in Borg El-Arab (Egypt).
New 4.4 million sqm tile line opened in Khorshid.
2008
International Ceramics sanitary ware decorating plant opened in
Borg El-Arab (Egypt).
2009
Export subsidiaries Lecico CEE and Lecico South Africa were incorporated.
2010
The launch of Burg Armaturen Fabrik - Sarrdesign brassware JV, in partnership with Engineer Raouf Shaarawi in Borg El Arab.
2011
First production began at the new Tile Plant in Borg El-Arab at a capacity of 6.4 million square meters per year.
